Out of concern for the safety of our community and in consultation with the Onondaga County Executive and local health officials, we have made the difficult decision to indefinitely postpone this year's Syracuse St. Patrick's Parade. The Parade had been planned for this Saturday, March 14th. All associated events such as the Green Stripe Painting, Mayor's Reception, Grand Marshal Gala, Parade Day Mass and all Parade-related events at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown have also been postponed indefinitely. (Other Masses have not been cancelled.) We will share additional information as it becomes available. The Committee would like to thank the many sponsors, participants and local partners who every year make the Syracuse Parade one of the best in the country. We are deeply disappointed not to march with you this weekend. We look forward to celebrating in the future, and in the meantime wish everyone good health and Irish blessings.

PBA members and retirees

The St Patrick’s Day Parade has been cancelled but that doesn’t mean we still can’t have a party. The PBA will still have a St Pat’s party at Benjamin’s on Franklin Street starting at 1300 hours on Saturday. Besides already having food ordered the owners of Benjamin’s, who have always been supportive of the police, are hoping we can kick start their day. They also have donated a keg of Blue Moon. We plan on being there until 1600 hours or so. If you’re working that day or one of our retirees please try to stop by. With all the craziness going on we all need to get out and unwind. We’ll be in the back room separated from the regular crowd. We’ve all been looking for a reason to get together so come on down to Franklin Street on Saturday and catch up with your coworkers.

Fraternally - Jeff Piedmonte

Apr 3-5 (Fri-Sun) 2020 - 3rd BATTLE of the TROOPS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

hockeyThis year I would like to have a retired members game. I have interest from a few guys already but need to get to about 20-25. Two teams of 10-12 players. In the previous two years I have struggled to find enough guys for this.

The cost would be $100 a guy and include:

- Friday, April 3rd there will be a welcome dinner at Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse for the teams.

- Each team will play each other twice. Once on Saturday the 4th & once Sunday the 5th.

- Each player will receive a game jersey.

It started with six teams of NYSP Troopers only two years ago. Last year we had fewer NYSP teams but more teams(8) overall. We added the VT, PA, NJ State police, NY Court officers and a team of Canadian officers. This year we are looking to bring the total number of teams up to 10 for the tournament with the additional two retired LEO games. The majority of the games are at the Cicero Twin Rinks and free to attend. Last year we added one game at the Oncenter War Memorial at 3:00 before the Crunch played at 7:00. That Crunch game was also PBA night. One ticket got both the LEO game and the Crunch game.

All of the money raised from the tournament stays within the LE community. The first two years of the event have raised $15,000

Thanks for the continued support

Trooper Kyle Everett
