- On March 1, 1988 the Syracuse Police began using it's own Computer Aided Dispatch system on a 24hr basis. Within a few years the Syracuse Police and Onondaga County Sheriffs discontinued separate communications centers and joined together in the current 911 system.

- Complaint clerks would write out incident on card, put it in the conveyer belt and it would slide up to the dispatchers
- You can see a couple of cards in that conveyer belt.
- Once dispatched the card was stamped with DR# by that machine at end of belt & placed in the car number slot.
- That turned the car number red on the Territory Map

- Displayed the car status for dispatcher. The Officer pressed a button in his car to change the car location on screen
- Left to right it showed - In Service, 93 break, 98 break, Enroute to call, At scene of call
- ADDRESS/AREA ROLODEX
- The address was found using the rolodex which provided the beat and area of that street for the complaint card.
